Rutherford/Murfreesboro: Police Offering Free Summer SRO Pop-ups

The Murfreesboro Police Department's School Resource Officers (SROs) are bringing summer fun to parks across the city with a series of free SRO Pop-Ups designed to help families connect with officers before the start of the new school year.

Each event will feature free hot dogs, music, bounce houses, games, and other family-friendly activities. The pop-ups offer children and parents an opportunity to meet the officers who serve Murfreesboro schools in a fun, relaxed setting.
SRO Pop-Up Schedule
  • Monday, June 29 | 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Oaklands Park
  • Tuesday, June 30 | 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Patterson Park
  • Wednesday, July 1 | 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Barfield Park
  • Thursday, July 2 | 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Old Fort Park
In addition to the festivities, certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will provide a free Car Seat Checkpoint on Thursday, July 2, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Old Fort Park. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to stop by to ensure their child's car seat is properly installed and appropriate for their child's age and size.
All activities, food, and entertainment are free. Families are invited to enjoy lunch, participate in the activities, and spend time getting to know Murfreesboro Police Department School Resource Officers.
