Rutherford: Parents: Let's Talk from Rutherford County Sheriff's Office Cat's Claw Dangerous
Just because a product is legally sold to adults does not mean it is safe for children.
Products marketed as Cat’s Claw may appeal to young people because of their packaging, availability, or claims about their effects. However, these products can pose serious health risks, particularly when their ingredients are unknown, undisclosed, or not what consumers expect.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has warned about products containing MGM-15 and 7-OH, which are kratom-derived compounds, that may not be clearly disclosed on product labels. Certain products associated with this initiative have raised serious safety concerns, including reports of deaths in Tennessee.
Parents, take time to talk with your children about what they see online, what their friends may be using, and the dangers of experimenting with these products. Remind them that a product being legally sold does not mean it is harmless.

Warren/McMinnville: New Traffic Pattern Announced
Please be aware of a new traffic pattern at the intersection of 𝗡. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝘁. 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪. 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘁.
The old pavement markings and signage have been removed. 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.
Here’s what you need to know:
𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝘁.: This is now a 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲 that allows traffic to either continue straight or turn right. Previously, there were two lanes—one for right turns and one for through traffic.
𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗪. 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘁. 𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝘁. 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱: There are now 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀 for this movement.This change was made to:
Provide vehicles turning from W. Main St. onto S. Chancery St. with a 𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘂𝘀.
Align the straight-through lanes on Chancery St. and 𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁.
Please use extra caution as everyone becomes accustomed to the new traffic pattern, and pay close attention to the new pavement markings and signage.

Rutherford/Murfreesboro: Walk It Out For Domestic Violence Event October 17
This year, we are excited to host our very first Domestic Violence Awareness event in Murfreesboro! Our goal is to bring our community together to raise awareness, share resources, and help educate others about the signs of domestic violence.
There will be community resources, music, food, and opportunities to connect with local organizations. Most importantly, we hope to create a space where we can come together to support survivors and spread awareness.
We are still looking for vendors and community partners to join us!
We are also still working to cover the remaining $625 needed to help make this event possible. If you are able to contribute, any donation—big or small—would mean so much to us and would go directly toward helping us provide this event for our community.

Rutherford/Murfreesboro: Youth Basketball League Signups Begin October 1st
Youth Basketball Registration opens up on October 1st and runs through October 31st.
The Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball League is open for boys ages 5 to 17, and girls ages 5 to 13 and is a great opportunity to participate, compete and enjoy the game of basketball.
Player evaluations will be on November 6th and 7th. Practices will begin December 12th and games will start the week of January 8th, with the exception of the 5-6 Coed Division which will not start playing games until January 19. The season will conclude with an end of the season tournament.

Rutherford/Murfreesboro-Smyrna: Licensed Plate Reader Assists In Arrest Of Juvenile In Strong Armed Robbery
Murfreesboro police, in collaboration with Smyrna police, arrested a teenager over the weekend for a strong-armed robbery using automatic license plate readers, public safety cameras, and proactive police work.
Authorities took the 17-year-old into custody in Smyrna, charging him with robbery, criminal simulation, and identity theft.
MPD officers responded to a report of a strong-armed robbery on the 1600 block of Center Pointe Drive at 8:17 a.m. on Saturday, September 19. The victim had arranged to sell jewelry to the teen, who provided counterfeit money before grabbing the jewelry from her hands. When the victim attempted to retrieve her belongings, the teen allegedly struck her with his car while leaving the scene. Fortunately, the victim was not seriously injured.
Crime data analysts from the Real-Time Crime Center used license plate reader technology and public safety cameras to locate the car in Smyrna. Authorities recovered most of the stolen jewelry, approximately $1,000 in counterfeit currency, and a fraudulent Illinois driver's license.
Police encourage anyone buying or selling items to do so in a safe, well-lit area, such as the Safe Exchange Zone located in the front parking lot of the Murfreesboro Police Department, which is also monitored by surveillance video.
Officers took the 17-year-old to the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center.
