On the afternoon of Saturday, September 12, 2026 at approximately 6:17pm, an unidentified suspect shot a resident as he opened the front door of his home on Snowbird Drive. The shooter was described as a slender male. It is unknown at this time if the shooter is the only suspect or if there is a driver as well. The event appears to be targeted and not random. The Smyrna Police Department is working with neighbors and witnesses to try and identify a potential vehicle along with identities for the suspects.
The suspect(s) likely fled north along Florence Road following the shooting. They would have initially been driving at a high rate of speed away from the scene.
