Rutherford/Murfreesboro: E-bike Rider Sustains Broken Leg In Accident




 An e-bike rider sustained a broken leg after a car struck him this morning.
The cyclist was riding in the bike lane on Thompson Lane as the driver attempted to turn left into the Circle K gas station and collided with him around 6:27 a.m.
Emergency personnel from the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department and Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services provided medical care to the rider at the scene. He was then transported to the hospital for further treatment of his injuries.
Murfreesboro Police Department officers have cited the driver for failure to yield, driving on a suspended license, and no proof of insurance.
The crash remains under investigation by MPD.
Drivers are reminded to always yield to cyclists and pedestrians to ensure everyone's safety on the road.
