Wilson/Lebanon: Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Overnight, the Lebanon Police Department received information from the Memphis Police Department that our attempted armed robbery suspect may have been taken into custody.

The Memphis Police Department’s license plate reader system alerted officers to the presence of the white Infiniti within their jurisdiction. When officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, the driver refused to stop, leading to a pursuit.
After the pursuit ended, Memphis Police officers took 44-year-old Anthony Tilghman, of North Carolina, into custody.
A search of the vehicle uncovered additional evidence believed to connect Tilghman to the attempted armed robbery at Winfrey’s Jewelry.
In addition to charges related to the pursuit in Memphis, Tilghman will face charges in Lebanon for attempted armed robbery, four counts of aggravated assault, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
