Rutherford/Smyrna: Auditions Set For August For Charlie Brown Production

 

We’re thrilled to announce auditions for You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, coming to life at Springhouse BlackBox this season directed by our Managing Director, Kaitlen Glover.

You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a joyful, fast-paced musical that brings the world of the Peanuts comic strip to life with heart, humor, and plenty of charm. Follow Charlie Brown and his lovable gang—Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, and Sally—as they navigate the highs and lows of childhood: chasing kites, missing valentines, belting Beethoven, and searching for that ever-elusive sense of belonging.

Told through a series of vignettes, catchy songs, and hilarious moments, this show is a celebration of friendship, imagination, and the little things that make life big. It's full of energy, personality, and opportunity for performers to shine—and yes, there’s a big dance number for a beagle.

Whether you’re a born scene-stealer or a quiet comic genius, there’s a place for you in this story. Come play!

HOW TO REGISTER FOR AUDITIONS :

Complete our two-step registration process before the audition dates. Once you have completed both steps you will be officially registered for your audition. Failure to complete both steps may result in your audition slots being released.

Note: Auditions are open to performers age 18 and above, and pre-registration using the provided link is required.

Audition Details:

When:

Auditions: Sunday, August 24th, from 5:30pm - 8:30pm

Auditions: Monday, August 25th, from 6:30pm - 9:30 pm

Callbacks: on Tuesday, August 26th (if needed) 6:30pm -9:30pm

WHAT TO PREPARE:

Please prepare a 1-minute cut of a song in the style of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown. Bring a backing track for your audition—acapella singing will not be permitted. Tracks may be played from a phone, tablet, or other device; a Bluetooth speaker will be available, but feel free to bring your own. Please do not sing a song from You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown.

AUDITION FORMAT:

During your audition time slot, you will present your prepared audition material and you will be taught a dance combination to perform as we are looking for strong movers. You will be required to be at your entire time slot so please pick one that works best with your schedule.

ATTIRE: Come dressed to move.

Please wear athletic or dance clothing you can move in with Jazz or Tennis shoes.
